The Venturers, Joey Scouts and Scouts packed the boxes over two nights.
Sponsored by Moama RSL, the packages contain books donated by Campaspe Regional Library, DVDs, soap, packets of biscuits, two-minute noodles and a variety of sweet treats.
These items were donated by scouting families and friends of the scouting movement.
Free postage is offered by Australia Post if the parcel is under 2kg, with Moama Post Office working hard to ensure the packages made it on time.
Youth who participated will use the activity as part of their badge work to gain the current ‘Their Service, Our Heritage’ badge.
To gain the badge, they have to undertake two to three activities relating to the service of Australian men and women and attend an Anzac Day service.
Joey Scout Mob leader Narelle Currey said local scouts were hoping to hear back from the troops who received the packages.
‘‘(They) are hoping that like last year’s boxes they will receive back letters from the troops, some which detail their service and where they are located,’’ she said.
