Essential Energy restored power to 2092 customers due to a fallen power pole near Deniliquin just after midnight.
Murray operations manager Ian Armstrong said network protection equipment was activated to isolate supply to the area about 12.15am after detecting a fault on the high voltage electricity network.
“Local crews were dispatched to fault find on the network before supply could begin to be restored and discovered that strong winds had caused damaged to the overhead electricity network,” Ian said.
“Crews worked throughout the night to repair the electricity network and safely restored supply to customers by 4.39am Monday.”
If any customers are still without power, they should call Essential Energy on 132 080.
"Essential Energy apologises for any inconvenience caused by the power outage and thanks customers for their patience," Ian said.
The fallen power pole also started a fire 10km south of Deniliquin along the Cobb Hwy.
It burnt about 1000 hectares before fire crews managed to get it under control.
However, the fire is still burning and firefighters expect to monitor the fire today and create protective measures.
