Joshua Moss-Blake was sentenced in Echuca Magistrates’ Court on January 13 to 24 months’ imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 15 months.
The 27-year-old has been in custody since his arrest in a Rochester paddock on October 12 last year.
Moss-Blake, who had a warrant out for his arrest, was charged with more than 40 offences including theft, obtaining property by deception, theft of a motor vehicle, theft and attempted theft from a motor vehicle, criminal damage by fire, failing to stop for police and unlicensed driving.
The offences stem from early August to October last year.
Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham of Campaspe criminal investigation unit said the crime spree started with a theft at Echuca Boats and More on August 3 where he stole a 1998 Toyota LandCruiser Troop Carrier, an outboard engine, welder, tools and a toolbox, valued about $30,000.
The troop carrier was set on fire in Anstruther St two days later.
Moss-Blake also committed theft-related offences in Yarrawonga, St Albans, Melbourne, Woodend, Ravenswood, Echuca and Rochester.
In late September, he broke into or damaged 13 cars and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of items across Echuca.
In October, Moss-Blake stole items from a vehicle at Elmore and a Toyota Hilux at Rochester before his arrest.
