The eight-race card scheduled for Friday, December 30, has been transferred due to continued drainage improvements at Echuca.
While ERC manager Garry Armstrong said it was “unfortunate” not to be holding the annual NYE meeting, the benefits of the works would be seen for years to come.
“The track’s over 30 years old so it’s at that time where we have the opportunity to give it a decent renovation,” Armstrong said.
“With the work that’s being done, it should hold it in good stead for the next 20 years.
“It’s unfortunate not to be racing on New Year's Eve because it’s been a good meeting for us but the long-term benefits are something that we look forward to.”
Works are expected to be completed this week, with an eight-week grace period to allow the track to return to peak condition.
The next meeting at Echuca will now be the club’s marquee race day, the Moama Bowling Club Echuca Cup, on Sunday, March 12.
