The popular craft last raced in 2020, bought at the end of 2021 by driver Mark Seamons and is now crewed by Dylan Cuff (observer) and skiing duo Connor Ballingall alongside Echuca’s Cameron Horne.
“It’s always been a bit of a crowd favourite and that’s what I found appealing when it came up on the market,” Seamons said.
“It’s got good history, good credentials, it’s a world championship-winning boat.
“Daniel McMahon had a lot of success with it over the years. We’re hoping to carry on his legacy and keep building.
“I think it’s the people’s boat, people relate to it.
“We try and carry that forward, we want to remain approachable and level-headed and have a chat.”
Competing in unlimited inboard, Seamons said his team was building nicely after a solid run in the Robinvale-Euston 80.
“We’ve had a good lead-up, we haven’t overdone but we had a good run at Robinvale, eighth outright,” he said.
“We’re just looking to build on that, if we can run a top 10 at the 80 it would be a great achievement for our first year as a team.
“Dylan Cuff is a very experienced observer; Connor won the unlimited class last year as well.
“If we podium in unlimited, we’d be pretty happy.”
