Rich River Quilters and Friends donated a magnificent quilt to the Moama and District Preschool Centre on Tuesday.

The wonderful quilt, made from donated jeans, was produced by Carol Martin.
“The great thing about jeans is that they are such a usable product,” she said.
“It is the ultimate in recycling to use them to make a quilt.
“The pockets are just terrific because you can use them to store items and the quilt features different colours for the kids to learn about.”
Carol has been quilting for more than three decades and has spent the past 22 years as a member of Rich River Quilters and Friends, which meets every Monday at the Echuca Village Hall.
When asked how long it takes to make a quilt of this quality, Carol said: “It’s like saying how long’s a piece of string, you complete it as quickly as you want to finish it.
“I took about a month in all for this quilt.”
Rich River Quilters and Friends has a proud history of donating quilts to schools and kindergartens, including Twin Rivers and Lockington Playgroup.
Carol was joined by fellow members Lucille George and Chrissy Hislop for the presentation.

Moama and District Preschool educator Cindy Falzon said they were honoured to receive the donation.
“Thank you to the wonderful ladies from Rich River Quilters and Friends for donating the quilt,” she said.
“It has been donated at a wonderful time, with our Teddy Bears’ Picnic taking place today.”
Rich River Quilters and Friends welcome new members. They meet each Monday at the Echuca Village Hall (tennis clubrooms) from 9am to noon.
