An impressive 18-0 season means that the Magpies have stood peerless throughout 2024, with only Cobram showing any fight against them.
The Tigers, who finished the season second on the ladder, were the only team to score more than 15 goals against Moama.
In the second semi-final, they improved upon that total but could not do much because of the Magpies’ unparalleled dominance.
Coach Rachael Whitelegg hopes that while the girls will be nervous on the day, they can continue their strong form and finish the season without a loss.
“It’s expected to be feeling a mix of both nervousness and excitement, but I think nerves are normal in a grand final,” she said.
“They have had a win every week all year, so let’s just hope that the girls can continue that form and get it done.”
Whitelegg acknowledged Cobram’s strong side. She remains confident that through their preparation and effort, they will emerge victorious.
“Cobram has a good team, but I’m confident that my girls will come out all guns blazing and just play their game; they’ve worked hard for this, and I think they deserve it,” she said.
“Their preparation has been good; they’re a great bunch of girls who give training all their effort, same as game day.
“They’ve had an excellent season; they back each other up and play well together, sticking together through it all, so as their coach, I’m very proud.”
The under-13s grand final will be held at Moama Recreation Reserve Court 2 on Saturday, September 21. Centre pass is scheduled for 10.30am.
