One way she is hoping to do so is by doing everything possible to secure state and federal government funding for projects in the region.
That includes the Port of Echuca.
When Ms Weller nominated for council, she said she had a strong focus on improving one of Echuca’s biggest tourism drawcards.
“The Port will be a big focus for us moving forward,” she said on Thursday.
“I can commit to receiving a full understanding of this for the whole community.
“We need to be strategically building a positive outcome for tourism for the whole of the Campaspe Shire.
“People want to see the area improved. Being able to see more information will help me to understand what can be done.
She held a similar view on roads in and around the district.
“Our shire covers about 4000km of roadways, covering multiple types of road users per industry,” Ms Weller said.
“Consequently, we have various types of vehicles that need to be catered for. Anything from heavy truck and trailer units through to the family sedan.
“We need to strongly advocate for extensive state and federal funding to maintain this infrastructure.”
