As well as now being considered a school zone, making the speed limit 40km/h between 8-9.30am and 2.30-4pm, the overall speed limit has been reduced to 60km per hour.
This was a decision made after an application was made to the Campaspe Shire Council by developers of the new St Joseph’s College facility.
“Council supported the change due to a new school being built on the corner of Mount Terrick and Stratton Rds,” Campaspe Shire Council said.
“The change supports safer roads for all users in the area and for the future development of the Echuca West precinct.”

Signs were installed on Thursday on Mount Terrick Rd, with Stratton Rd signs to be completed by the end of Friday.
“Speed reductions are considered for the improvement of safety to all road users,” the council said.
“With the increase in pedestrian, cyclists and road users with the new school campus and the proposed Echuca West precinct developments, this was the safest solution for the community.”
The council said road upgrades would occur as part of the future development of the area.
