A Shepparton man is in a Melbourne hospital with serious head injuries after an assault in Shepparton in the early hours of Monday, July 18.
Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Detective Acting Sergeant Nathan Trimby said the man was assaulted between midnight on Sunday, July 17 and 4am on Monday, July 18.
Det Sgt Trimby said the 32-year-old Shepparton man had left a Numurkah Rd house and when he returned he had severe head injuries.
He was taken to Melbourne’s The Alfred hospital.
Police believe the assault happened in Numurkah Rd, in the area near Goulburn Valley Health, but on the opposite side of the road.
They are looking for anyone who knows anything about the assault, or has CCTV footage or dashcam footage, to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
