The nearest to the pin on the 17th was also Dale Stuart and the ball pool went to Dale Stuart and Shirley Wright with net 74 on a countback from Jane Hanson.
In the men’s stableford competition, the A-grade winner was Dave Pearce (4) with the top score of the day of 37 points. The B-grade winner was John Callaghan (14), who shared the honours of the top daily score, also with 37 points.
The nearest to the pin on the 4th was Russell Peel, on the 6th it was Dave Pearce, the 12th stayed with the club while on the 17th Russell Peel was again the closest.
The ball pool went to 33 points and included Dave Pearce, John Callaghan, Jock Mundy, Bill Matthews, Roger Edwards, Mark Fountain and Bill Schaeffer-Steel.
The mixed nine-hole winner was Ian Stuart (21) with 15 points.
On Saturday the club hosted a Christmas Gala Day, which was an ambrose format that included some novelty holes to add to the fun. There was a winning team on the day, which included Greg Pell, Dave Pearce, Emily Pell and Adam Pell; however, there were many prize recipients on the day.
Nearest to the pins, the best dressed as well as all participants automatically included in an extensive raffle meant most players went home with something.
The golf was followed by a lunch and it was a great social way to end on leading into the Christmas festivities.
Next Friday the social nine holes will be stroke over holes one to nine. Saturday is a stableford round for the men and women.
