Echuca’s Caledonian Hotel and Echuca Hotel will join in on the action, hosting a Flanno for a Farmer day with support from Travla beer.
Charity Farm Angels works to provide support for farmers across Australia, through emotional, financial and mental health assistance. It also creates care packs and food hampers for farmers in need.
Farm Angels founder Natasha Johnston saw a gap in services for farmers, and through the charity, aims to recognise their contributions and support their struggles.
“Farmers are the backbone of our nation,” she said.
“They work tirelessly to put food on our tables, but they often struggle silently with immense challenges, both physically and mentally.
“By supporting Flanno for a Farmer, Australians have the chance to show their appreciation and give back to farmers in their time of need”.
Flanno for a Farmer is an opportunity to raise funds for Farm Angels, and show support for the farming community by donning a flannelette shirt for the day.
“We need Australians to get their friends, family and workmates together, wear a flanno and raise money to help Farm Angels continue its great work,” Ms Johnston said.
“Every cent raised will enable vital outreach services to farming communities and will ultimately help save lives.
“Farmers put food on our tables and clothes on our backs — now it’s our turn to give them a hand.”
The Caledonian Hotel and Echuca Hotel are among venues nationwide who will be participating, with Travla jumping on board to provide its lagers for the cause.
Travla founder Travis Fimmel has supported Farm Angels through various initiatives including Flanno for a Farmer and A Long Drive for Drought.
Two dollars for every schooner of Travla sold on the day at the Cal and Echuca Hotel will go towards the cause.
Other local venues also supporting the charity with QR codes for donations are Echuca Workers Club and Henry’s Bridge Hotel.
Flanno for a Farmer is on Friday, August 23. To donate to the cause through Travla’s fundraising page, head to https://www.flannoforafarmer.com.au/t/travs-flanno-team
