The mighty Yarrawonga Pigeons have two teams ready and primed for the Ovens & Murray Grand Final assault at the Lavington Sports Ground today with a chance at premiership glory.

The Pigeons will fly for their seventh senior football O&M Premiership and A-Grade will be aiming to take home their tenth. The last time both teams won an O&M grand final in the same season was back in 2012.
A-Grade will begin their quest at 12.30pm and the senior football grand final will begin at 2.30pm.
Looking at the surnames of both the football and netball teams, you can see a lot of homegrown bloodlines and talent.
Surnames such as Kennedy, Leslie, Davis, Cummins, Holgate, Howe, Irvine, Frauenfleder, Bruce, Casey and Pendergast will be familiar to locals, with many of them looking to repeat the feats of family members.
Both teams came through their second semi-finals confident and have used the advantage of having a week off to rest.
Recapping the second Semi-Final, the A-Grade side met a strong Raiders team in warm conditions and whilst the game had plenty of errors young star Kaleisha Pell under the post shone brightly.
Chasing her tenth premiership medal on Sunday, Bridget Cassar was equally brilliant and Laura Irvine, through the middle simply outworked her opponents.
The re-match between these teams on Sunday should be a belter.
On the football field, Yarrawonga seniors controlled the Wang Rovers in a game that went the Pigeons' way.
Ryan Bruce was very good, as was the midfield brigade led by Lewis-Smith and Morris Medal winner Willie Wheeler.
Pendergast held down the key defence post, and up forward, the load was shared.
Despite the second semi winning margin, the grand final has a bit of a habit of form reversal, and the second semi only qualifies a team.
The Pigeons know the work is still to be done.
Following the game Sunday everyone is invited back to the JC Lowe Oval to relive the year and hopefully celebrate the day.
The club thanks its major partners: Club Mulwala, Kennedy Builders, Belmores, BETR, BG Finance Services, Blum, Rural Group, Yarrawonga Holiday Park and Yarrawonga Hotel, for their support all year.
