A car involved in a crash with a truck at Shepparton East on Monday, September 23, was allegedly stolen and being driven by a child, according to police.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have been told that an allegedly stolen Holden Cruze and a truck collided near the intersection of Hosie Rd and the Midland Hwy about 3.30pm.
The car was allegedly being driven by a 16-year-old Goulburn Valley girl, while two Shepparton boys were passengers.
An 11-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Cruze, was flown by air ambulance helicopter to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in a critical condition, with upper and lower body injuries.
Another passenger, a 15-year-old boy, was flown to the same hospital by air ambulance helicopter in a stable condition with lower body injuries.
The alleged driver of the Cruze, a 16-year-old girl, was initially taken to Goulburn Valley Health in a stable condition with upper and lower body injuries.

A GV Health spokesperson said the girl had since been transferred to Melbourne’s The Alfred hospital.
On Tuesday morning she remained in The Alfred in a stable condition.
The driver of the truck, a woman in her 50s, sustained upper body injuries and was also taken GV Health, where she remained in a stable condition on Tuesday morning.
The Midland Hwy was closed in both directions after the crash, with a detour set up around the scene.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
