Fiona and John Glover established the stud in 2000 and believe they are on the right track with their breeding program due to the plentiful return clients as well as the local grapevine bringing in many new ones.
The ‘W’ branded on their stock’s rump represents more than their stud’s name — their cattle are ‘ticking all the boxes’.
Fiona said the couple ‘love’ the relationships they have developed with clients over the years.
“We appreciate hearing how well the bulls are working for their owners,” Fiona said.
“It is great to get an insight into what our bulls are producing and then work with our clients to select the next wave of genetics that will ultimately fulfil the clients’ breeding requirements.”
More than 30 bulls and the entire female herd will be on display for Beef Week.
The sire-verified bulls at Wattlewood have come from foundation stock that go back to some of the best cow families in the Angus breed including Barunah, Acacia, Ella and Esther.
These females have come together with the industry’s leading sires Texas Iceman, Chiltern Park Moe, Sydgen Enhance and Sitz Stellar.
The animals are in their best health to ensure longevity and their best possible reproductive performance.
Wattlewood’s breeding philosophy is to have structurally correct and quiet animals that perform in a package that buyers enjoy owning.
Wattlewood has potential stud and herd sires available that are among the best in the breed for birth weight, growth, structure and carcase EBVs.
When various traits are calculated, Wattlewood’s sale bulls are top performers in every Angus index.
All bulls have all been semen tested and vaccinated with 7 in 1, Pestigard, Rhinogard and Vibrovax.
The bulls will be offered for sale on Thursday, March 14 at 4pm, interfaced with AuctionsPlus.
Gates open at 9am on Sunday, January 28 at 75 Heads Rd, Lang Lang.
