The severe thunderstorm warning for Tuesday, November 26, has now passed the Goulburn Valley.
The Bureau of Meterology is now saying severe thunderstorms are likely in areas that include Wodonga, Wangaratta and Bright.
A 119km/h wind gust was recorded at Rutherglen at 4.01pm.

The Bureau of Meteorology has updated its severe thunderstorm alert for Tuesday, November 26.
The Bureau is now saying severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours.
Towns which may be affected include Shepparton, Euroa, Yarrawonga, Wangaratta and Bright.
An earlier warning for the Mallee district, including Echuca, has been cancelled.
EARLIER: A severe thunderstorm warning for Tuesday, November 26, has been put out for areas including Shepparton, Echuca and Rochester.
The warning by the Bureau of Meteorology at 1.50pm said the severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours.
Locations which may be affected include Kerang, Echuca, Shepparton, Yarrawonga, Rochester and Wangaratta.
The State Emergency Service advises that is driving conditions are dangerous, people should pull over away from trees, drains and low-lying areas.
People should also be aware that heat, fire or recent storms may make trees unstable and more likely to fall when wet or windy.
