Eleven scheduled meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of each month between February and December, all taking place at the Kerang Senior Citizens Centre from 6pm.
Mayor Garner Smith said council meetings were open to the public, and could highlight how elected representatives made decisions about the district’s future.
“Our monthly meetings enable councillors to consider and make decisions on matters of public interest, including, but not limited to, financial matters, planning, policies and projects,” Cr Smith said.
“Building and enhancing connections between council and our communities is important to my fellow councillors and I, so we will endeavour to meet with residents across the Gannawarra during 2025 to discuss local matters.”
Meetings may include informal gatherings with the community or listening following council meetings, with details to be confirmed in coming months, Cr Smith said.
A meeting to elect a new mayor and deputy mayor will occur between October and November next year, with the date to be determined.
Changes to meetings will be announced on the council’s Facebook page, website and other publications.
