The A1s travelled to Corowa Civic, and after trailing most of the day got up to win by three shots!
Two rinks won, with David Lindsay, Dale Brooker, Sarah Mathieson and Christine Gray up 26/12, and Shane Mathieson, Ted Armstrong, Ian Hobson and Yvonne Capp winning 22/17, with Bill Armstrong going down 13/29. The A1s currently sit in fifth place on the ladder going to the last four games in the new year.
The A3s visited Chiltern and were beaten by 11 shots overall.
Jim Hodder, John Spinks, Heather Hodder and Ian Capp won 22/17, our only winning rink. The results of the others were Remo Ascenzo 15/17 and Brenda Sunderland 9/23. The A3s sit seventh on the ladder, marginally behind sixth-placed Mulwala Services.
The B1s played host to Swanpool, which proved a little too good, winning 61/41. Brendan Rettke, Loch Lidgerwood, Kyle Margat and Marg Binnie our only winning rink, 18/13, while Rhonda Kyval went down 11/18 and Paul Chapman lost 12/30. The B1s are six points behind the seventh and sixth on the ladder, so with a strong showing in the new year hopefully will move up the ladder.
Wednesday night’s Hump Day barefoot final was conducted between the Green Room and NIOA, in a game where the result was not a reflection of the quality of the bowling.
The winning team was Glyn Yates, Craig Macklan, Rod Cook and Mick Liddington while Wendy Joseph,Trevor Helybut and Ash Helybut played some great bowls leading up to their final.
Hopefully in February we can give the opportunity for some barefoot bowls again.
Our biggest tournament is on January 4 and 5, the Rose Bowl pairs. Any members who can help out on the day should please contact Graeme Greene.
I wish all members a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous, healthy new year.
