The Campaspe Playing Area weekend pennant is heating up for Rochester, which still remains in with a chance to make finals.

Playing on Saturday morning at Rochester Bowls Club due to anticipated heat later in the day, Rochy dominated Deniliquin 16-76 to 0-39, leapfrogging its opposition in the process.

In a brilliant team effort, Tim Quinlan skipped the starring rink for Rochester, earning a big 34-7 win.
Across the green, spectators were seeing double as remaining Rochy skips Richard Feuk and Les Walles scored identical 21-16 victories over their Deniliquin rivals.
The maximum points win moves Rochester into sixth place.

Other favourable results around the competition leave Rochy only a single point behind Mathoura and nine behind Echuca, needing to pass both in the final round to secure a post-season berth.
Coming up against the league’s bottom side in Rich River, Rochester will need to score as many rinks as possible to give itself the best chance of advancing.

With Mathoura and Echuca playing each other, Rochy requires Mathoura to win on overall shots but take fewer rinks than Rochy does over Rich River in order to pass both sides and move into fourth.
In division two, Rochester had a tougher time against Deniliquin but still managed to grab the win, 13-65 to 3-58.

Deni skip Robert Morris and Rochester opponent Graeme Chambers played to a 19-all standstill in their rink.
Each side earned a victory in the other two rinks, but Kevin Hall’s 28-13 margin was enough to overcome Craig Hillier’s 26-18 win for Deni.

In division three, Lockington got past Echuca 14-65 to 2-46 and Elmore was defeated by Moama Black 2-48 to 14-57.
Rochester lost to Moama Green 2-49 to 14-54.
Division four saw Lockington defeat Ky Valley View 14-62 to 2-42, while in division five, Rochester beat Lockington 14-32 to 0-28 and Moama had a narrow win over Elmore 12-44 to 2-42.

Midweek pennant
Echuca holds an unassailable lead in division one after scoring maximum points against Rochester in round 12, picking up the win 16-65 to 0-44.
The Roma Opie-skipped rink was responsible for most of the margin, her quartet of Ken Main (lead), Pat Schram (second) and Lee Beattie (third) earning a 26-7 win.
On the nearby greens, a pair of nail-biters were taking place. Kerryn Evans got the best of Kevin Hall 18-17 and Ian Page prevailed over Rob Dennis 21-20, resulting in all 16 points for Echuca.
In division two, Echuca got the better of Rochester 14-72 to 2-43.
In division three, Moama had a close win over Elmore 12-39 to 2-35, while Deniliquin RSL proved too strong for Lockington 12-48 to 2-33.
In division four, Lockington prevailed over Rochester 14-51 to 0-27.
