On Sunday, April 6, the swimming club hosted its first ever official swim meet at the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre.
A total of 96 swimmers registered to compete, travelling from areas across Victoria, such as North Albury, Geelong, West Melbourne, Bendigo, Mansfield, Kilmore and Shepparton.
Impressive talents were showcased throughout the day, with the event wrapping up with entertaining relay races and the much-anticipated over-30s race, which saw several local dads dive in to show off their swimming skills.
The meet brought together families, friends and community members, reinforcing the club’s growing presence and positive impact in the region.
Event organisers hailed the day as a major success and a promising sign of what’s to come for the Seymour Sharks Swimming Club.
Club president Melissa Houlihan thanked the sponsors, including the Seymour Club, Cox Solid Civil, Ray White Seymour and Euroa, ShockWave Appliance Repaits, Griff-Fit, CountryWide Turf Solutions and Shout Speech Pathology for helping make the day happen.
