Having trained locally, Mr Uguz launched Pursuit Automotive in the second half of 2023.
“I have a passion for the industry. Love the cars. Love the inner workings of them,” he said.
“So I thought, ‘I’ll give it a crack for myself’.”
He completed his apprenticeship locally, and his first foray into going it alone was on the road, travelling to the people with the problem and carrying out mechanical repairs on location.
“I thought it was good convenience, low overheads, a new challenge and different things to do,” he said.
Mr Uguz said there was good demand for the mobile service.
“As word of mouth got out a bit, people started seeing the convenience of it all,” he said.
“You know, while people are at work, you can service the car in the car park while they’re working.
“They don’t have to be without the car for the entirety of the day, and yeah, I think people really started to appreciate that and started getting on board with it.
“I gave that a crack and now have said I’ll expand a bit further while keeping the mobile side of things running.”
Mr Uguz is opening a workshop on Drummond Rd in Shepparton that will offer “everything a standard workshop would do”, including warranty work and roadworthies in the near future.
“Whatever’s got an engine in it, I’m pretty keen to have a crack,” he said.
