Picola United names its best 22

Club leaders: Past Players chair and two-time Picola United premiership coach (2016-17) Jon Varcoe with the captain of both those teams, Clinton Barnes (who is currently the president of the club), and current vice president Brad Caldwell, who was president of Picola United during those back-to-back premierships.
Honouring the past: Picola United senior and reserve players — wearing the heritage jumpers featuring the clubs which combined to form Picola United 55 years ago — Yalca, Cummeragunja, Barmah and Moira.
Looking back: Current Picola United players Troy Trickey, Kodi Hicks, three time reserves premiership coach Chris Cheong, Rory Fynch, Sean Mortimer and Jordan Glanville. They were all involved in premiership teams from 2010 and 2015-17.
Back on his old stomping ground: Jeff Turpin (right) made an early request to be appointed as senior umpire at Picola United on the weekend. The former champion footballer is a past Picola United best and fairest winner, along with runner-up in the Pearce Medal. He umpired with Kieran Collins and is pictured with Picola United captain Blake Jorgensen.
Back in town: Travis Johnstone, who played with the club in the early 2000s, Picola-born and bred former grand final coach, Goulburn Valley league Morrison Medallist and 55-year team member Russell Byrnes, along with 250-plus gamer and another Finest from 55 player Steve Lindsay.

Every time Jon Varcoe and Chris Cheong return to Picola United Football Club it brings a broad smile to their face, after all between them they have five grand final wins and a host of fond memories to show for their time at the club.
