The Lions - which features Simon White (Carlton), Sam Rowe (Carlton and St Kilda) and Zach Clarke (Fremantle and Essendon) - claimed EFL premierships in 2018 and 2019 before the cancellation of the 2020 season.
White said the club was excited to make the trip.
‘‘This was something we were hoping to do last year,’’ he said.
‘‘Unfortunately everything happened a few days before we were supposed to make the trip, so we are really excited to finally get up there and have a good hit out against a really good team.’’
Rowe, who initially signed with Doncaster East in 2019 before returning to the AFL with St Kilda, then signed again in 2020 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, said he was excited to be back on the park.
“I joke that I'll be a life member of the club before I even pull on a jumper at this rate,” he laughed.
“But I'm really excited to get back on the park and get playing again, and as a club we're really excited to come up to Echuca-Moama and be a part of country football.
“Getting out every week and watching your club is a big thing in the city, but we know it's so special in country footy, and we can't wait to experience that.
“Hopefully we get a big crowd down to the game.”
Echuca co-coach Andrew Walker said he hoped to see a packed ground at Moama.
“We got to play in front of a crowd against Moama a few weeks ago and it was fantastic,” Walker said.
“Having 1000 people there, kids running around and people enjoying live sport again, it really was exciting to be a part of, and I hope we can see that again on Saturday.
‘‘It’s a beautiful ground, the new facilities are just excellent and it’s an opportunity for us to bring a bit more live football to the ground and show off all the work they have done.’’
As for the meeting of old Carlton teammates, Rowe expects a bit of action.
“I think you have a tendency to play harder against your mates,” Rowe said.
“We're all looking for a good hit-out ahead of the season, and I think Walks will be getting his boys ramped up, as will we ahead of the game.”
Reserves begin at 2pm, with seniors from 4pm.
