With the gynasium getting it's finishing touches, the slab laid for the new VCAL building, the beginning of the primary section and Twin Rivers’ Grade 5/6 building, it's all happening on site.
“Everything is on track and we're looking at a July or early August finish,” Specialist School principal Paul Marshall said.
“This will land us sometime in the third term and that's when our students will start the transition into the new facility with everything hopefully coming together for Term 4.”
And the Specialist school couldn't be more excited at how quickly the move-in date is approaching.
“We're so excited,” he said.
“It's been many, many years in the process from getting the funding and actually having the school built.
“We've have not been in purpose-built buildings for 30 years so we're really excited to finally have the school the students certainly do deserve.”
The Specialist School and Twin Rivers Primary are already working hard to ensure their students will have a smooth transition into their new facility.
“We've already started working together as a staff and I've been working closely with Paul to ensure we're planning each week for the co-location,” Twin Rivers principal Brea Terris said.
“At the start of the we had a joint a joint curriculum day adn we looked at many of the department's initiatives and we'll be having joint staff meetings and leadership meets as well.”
