The 94.4 per cent hit rate was revealed at the club’s recent awards night, where president Ricky Keirl was named club champion.
Over 20 rounds of 25 shots each, Keirl shot two perfect rounds of 25, eight rounds of 24, and 10 of 23.
Tied for second were Jason Smith and Steve Norris with 450 out of 500, followed by Mick Keirl’s 449.
The awards were handed out after the club’s last meet of the year recently.
The day started out with plenty of showers and looking overcast, and the club was surprised to have 152 shooters travel to attend one of the most anticipated events for the year — the two-person team shoot.
It was run as a novelty event, where a pair of shooters are placed in a shooting stand within a few feet of each other, and have to work together to try and hit a variety of targets that are thrown on their command.
It takes communication and concentration to hit all targets thrown, which can vary from having two to four targets in the air at the same time.
Throughout the day there were many laughs and shakes of the head as some fluked a great shot and hit two clay targets in one go.
Life member Daryl Scott has set up this format for a few years, and the feedback from shooters was great, with many saying it was the most fun they have had shooting in a long time.
Moama RSL were the generous sponsors, and prizes up for grabs were Christmas hams.
The biggest hams went to the high gun winners, who shot the most targets for the day without handicaps added. Then first to 10th place were awarded to the teams with the highest scores including their handicaps.
High gun went to recently crowned national champion Nick Guerra and his partner Chris Brown. The two of them only missed three of the 140 targets for the day which was top shooting.

At the conclusion of shooting, the children who came along had a special visit from Santa Claus, who made his grand entrance on the back of a ute.
George and June Shawcross very kindly sponsored the club champion and club aggregate awards each year and they take great pleasure in presenting the awards to the winners.
The aggregate is awarded to the shooter for all of their targets shot over the year including their handicap.
This gives all shooters the chance to be in the running, but with his form on point this year, Ricky Keirl was unbeatable, with a combined score of 743 targets for the year.
Jason Smith was next closest with 720, followed by George Shawcross of 663 and Emma Keirl on 662.
Mick and Ricky Keirl then awarded the Keirl Brothers Shield to the junior and sub junior champions for the year.
Jordon Smith followed on from his win in 2017 to again be the junior winner, shooting 682 targets (including handicap).
In her first year of shooting, Izzy Keirl was awarded the sub junior champion, shooting 553 targets for the year.
Both Jordon and Izzy received a slab of shotgun shells and a trophy to display at home, with their names going on the shield for all to see.
