MOAMA Anglican Grammar is helping turn its trash into someone else's treasure by donating old books to the Echuca Moama Rotary Club.
From cookbooks to textbooks, fiction to non-fiction novels and kids books, the Rotary Club will be able to repurpose them again and raise money for community projects.
MAGS teacher librarian Meaghan Height said it wasn't just about having a clean out at the school.
“We did this last year and we went through all our books and donated them to Rotary,” she said.
“And by doing that, we're able to build on our community connections and create that bond with organisations such as the Rotary Club.
“We would rather someone else get something out of these books rather than throw them away.”
Echuca Moama Rotary Club president-elect Teresa Carlson said the books would be sold at a garage sale over the Easter long weekend.
“We will have them all set up for people to come have a look and raise money for our projects we have on the way,” she said.
“We appreciate the support we get from Moama Anglican Grammar.”
The garage sale will be held at 214 High Street and run from 7.30am until 4pm Saturday and until 4pm on Sunday.
