Lions talent Riley Mason kicked three goals in almost as many minutes when it mattered on Saturday to help his side rebuild its lead.
And it was another in a long line of impressive performances.
Thrown into the forward line against Kyabram, Mason usually plays on the wing and half-back, averaging a solid 20.2 disposals, 8.6 marks and four ground ball gets.
On Saturday afternoon he did what he needed to do, collecting 14 disposals, six marks, six tackles and scoring three important goals.
Mason’s round seven performance against Shepparton United was particularly impressive, with 33 disposals, 13 contested possessions and 15 marks to chalk up one of his best of the season.
The versatile talent’s sublime game saw him amass plenty of Data Points — the latest innovation from GVL Data — in the win over United.
Data Points operates under the same premise as most fantasy games and sees players scored on their performances.
Mason racked up an impressive 146 Data Points from his round seven hit-out.
Having played every game of Seymour’s season so far, a fit and firing Mason will certainly be a key cog in the Lions’ charge for finals glory.
