Twenty-six riders hit the road, with new winners named for the first time in many months.
Aaron Mulkearns made an excellent start to the season in the A-grade category, breaking away from the peloton with 10 minutes to race. Mick Hone and Nathan Oman rounded out the podium.
B-grade saw a race to the line as Jason Jerskinish took line honours ahead of Nick McNair and Dave Trounson.
Aaron McMaster, Paul Oman and Darren McKemmish also fought out a tight C-grade ride.
George Jenkins claimed the D-grade category ahead of Mel Smolenaars and club president Ray Hamilton.
Hamilton was rapt to see his cyclists hit the pavement once more.
“Our road season is held in the winter, (so) we only got to hold about four or five races with COVID knocking it on the head,” Hamilton said.
“We’re just rapt to be able to get back again, and everyone is keen as mustard to get into it.
“They haven’t been able to race in a few months. Not only racing, but socialising with other members.
“We’re looking forward to moving on now that we’re pretty on top of COVID as far as inoculations go.”
