There is a lot Rotary couldn't do without its dedicated members, who give up their time purely because they love it.
And the club is ready to welcome anyone with open arms.
“As of January this year, our club comprises of 21 members with diverse backgrounds and career paths,” president-elect Teresa Carlson said.
“We believe a healthy, vibrant club includes men and women of all ages from many cultures, backgrounds and vocations.
“And without our members, what club would we have?”
Over the years, Rotary has been dedicated to helping those in need, whether it be within the twin towns or beyond.
“We fundraise and put on events in Echuca-Moama to raise much-needed funds wherever we can,” Ms Carlson said.
“While COVID-19 has meant we unfortunately had to postpone our beloved Steam Rally, we haven't let that stop us creating a new and exciting event in its place.
“We've decided to put together a Family Day on Queen's Birthday weekend that will not only have our vintage engines on display, but a whole range of fun and activities for the whole family.”
The club is also involved in events such as Australia Day, the EWMAC special Olympics and conducts a Youth Leadership program.
“Whether it's a barbecue breakfast or donating and fundraising, it's our mission to give back,” Ms Carlson said.
Echuca-Moama Rotary also gives assistance to those beyond our shores.
“On June 5, we will be packaging up non-perishables and sending them overseas as care packages,” Ms Carlson said.
“We as Rotarians have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues and we want to do this in any way we can.”
Ms Carlson said the club was always looking to welcome new members.
“We have such an amazing group here and we want to include as many people as possible,” she said.
“We meet on Tuesday evenings at 6pm for a 6.30pm start at the Moama Bowling Club; however, sometimes we are out and about exploring and meeting at different locations. So if you plan on visiting, please contact us to ensure that you’ll find us at the right location.”
