Stay in tune with your body, as it is International Men’s Health Month and, from June 13 to 19, it is International Men’s Health Week.
This week is about not missing a tune when it comes to mental, emotional and physical health.
This event has been in existence for 20 years now, with International Men’s Health Week launched after the second World Congress on Men’s Health in Vienna, Austria in 2002.
The theme of Men's Health Week 2022 is building healthy environments for men and boys.
This theme revolves around how to create physically, mentally and emotionally healthy environments when it comes to every aspect of life — at home, in the workplace and in social settings.
It is about encouraging discussions around medical check-ups and increasing awareness on health challenges faced by men.
Men’s Health Week is also about influencing institutions to develop health policies and initiatives when it comes to men’s and boys’ health, and creating services in tune with their needs.
It is an opportunity to turn to your friends, brothers, fathers, cousins and colleagues, to ask them simply ‘how are you?’ and spark a potentially life-changing conversation.
