After collecting a trolley load of groceries at Woolworths Echuca, John realised he had forgotten his wallet in the car as he approached the checkout.
He told the customer service attendant he would be back in next to no time, but when he returned, he found someone had paid for everything.
“I was in shock, you never expect that to happen to you,” he said.
“The total was about $100 so I was overwhelmed. I asked the staff member if the person was still there, but they had already left.”
Now John is determined to find the person who he said did him a “massive favour”.
“I understand if they don’t want to be named publicly,” he said.
“I just want to be able to say thank you and have a chat to them.
“What they did was an amazing act and I can’t thank them enough.”
If you have a story of generosity in Echuca-Moama, we would love to hear it.
