Their happy meals took on a new level of happiness when they met their surprise: a lively puppy named Albert, a pug ready to make their family complete.
Karly’s recollection of that day involves sharing some chips with Albert during the drive-through, which would sum up Albert’s pampered life with the girls.
Albert knew he would be spoiled with attention and affection for life.
Years rolled by, and everything in Albert’s world remained perfect.
Until one day the girls bid him farewell, their father leading them on another adventure shrouded in secrecy.
Albert waited eagerly for their return.
As their car pulled up in front of a house, Karly and Lillyanna spotted telltale signs of a four-legged occupant.
Slowly, the realisation dawned on them, and their dreams dared to include a new furry friend.
And there she was — Cookie, a five-month-old French Bulldog with irresistible charm.
Instantly, she won over the hearts of the Loughran sisters.
Albert, the seasoned pug, took a bit more time to warm up to his new companion.
At this point, Albert knew the backyard like the back of his paw.
He watched Cookie navigate the territory as if she owned the place.
Who was this new pup prancing around with such confidence?
But Cookie was persistent, refusing to take no for an answer, and eventually Albert couldn’t resist joining in her playful escapades.
Now the mentor, Albert introduced Cookie to the sacred art of “zoomies.”
They became inseparable partners in mischief, holding down the fort while the family was away.
Their patience shone as they waited by the back door, eagerly anticipating the kids’ return from school.
Lillyanna lovingly labelled Cookie as “crazy,” while Karly shared that Cookie initially feared water.
“She doesn’t want to get in the pool, she just stands there,” Karly said.
“But she’s getting better though.”
As the summer heat intensifies, Cookie bravely faces her fear of water, cooling off in the pool.
When asked about the inspiration behind the names, the family collectively shrugged.
When they saw first saw Albert, the name just felt right.
When they first saw Cookie, the name just felt right.
They acknowledged that they were two very different types of names, but then again, Cookie and Albert are two different dogs.
Initially cautious about welcoming Cookie into the household, Albert is still as spoiled by the girls as ever.
