The fierce showdown continues at Shepparton Sports City for the Hockey Australia Country Championships. Men and women from across Australia have competed all week for the national titles, and now it’s time for the medal matches in the final two days of the event, concluding Saturday. Don’t miss out on the action!

Phases of Femininity at MOVE
It’s a sign of the times at MOVE, with a new collection that reveals the changing ideas of femininity and women’s roles in society in one of the only expressions possible at the time — fashion. From floor-length to flapper, Phases of Femininity showcases the style and culture from the first three decades of the 20th century.

Walking Home – Homelessness Awareness Walk
Hosted by the Salvation Army in Shepparton, Walking Home will empower our community to come together to end homelessness. Community members are invited to collectively walk 418 laps of Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake to raise awareness of the 418 people in our community experiencing homelessness. A free sausage sizzle will follow.

Goulburn Valley Grammar School presents Moana Jr
Goulburn Valley Grammar middle school students are bringing one of Disney’s most popular films to life. Follow the adventure of Moana of Motunui as she sets sail in search of demigod Maui in the hope of returning the heart of Te Fiti and saving her people.

Shepparton Brick Show
For the first time ever, Playwell Events’ Brick Show will be heading to Victoria — the Shepparton Showgrounds to be exact. Visitors can expect to see over 50 tables of custom-built Lego models, many play tables, and a few vendors selling Lego sets and parts on the day. From Star Wars to Harry Potter, there will be something for everyone.

History Hub grand opening at Shepparton Heritage Centre
Shepparton Heritage Centre is celebrating the grand opening of its History Hub. History will come alive with a bounty of Shepparton News archives, Mollie Hill’s art and poetry exhibition, and guest speaker John Dainton discussing ‘Shepparton’s early history buried under Monash Park’.

Matildas’ quarter-final — FIFA Women’s World Cup
Matildas Mania – all of us here at the News have it, and if you do too, waltz down to the Multi-purpose Pavilion at the Shepparton Showgrounds to watch the mighty Matildas take on France. Hosted by Greater Shepparton City Council, the event is free to encourage as many residents as possible to cheer on the green and gold together. Food trucks on site or BYO food and drink, but strictly no alcohol.
Parking is available at the Showgrounds, entry via Fryers St.

Luke Blaze — Reborn
Australia’s youngest underwater escape artist is embarking on a regional tour that begins in Mooroopna. On September 2, you could be the first to witness the magic of Luke Blaze as he transports, levitates, eats fire and more! Audience members will be holding their breath as they witness Luke perform his death-defying stunts during the 90-minute show.
