Whether the kids are coming back or stepping through the school gate for the first time, it seems students are keen to be back in the classroom.
Echuca Primary School (208) principal Andrew Judd said there were positive vibes all around the yard as they started term one on Thursday, January 28.
“It's been great to see all of our students back on our grounds this week,” he said.
“After such a disruptive year in 2020, it seems as though the students are excited to be here.
“They all seem to be very calm at the same time, it's great to see.”
Mr Judd said the morning was a success as staff, students and their families came together in the school yard.
“We have a few new staff members starting, and of course our new prep students, so we wanted to give our families the chance to build that relationship with our school,” he said.
“It's something we really missed last year when working and learning remotely, so it's definitely something we want to make sure we maintain this year.”
After COVID-19 restrictions stopped visitors coming on to school grounds, Mr Judd said it was good to see restrictions easing.
“We still have to make sure we keep an eye on how many parents and visitors we do have, but it's great that we can welcome the school community back in where we want them to be,” he said.
“Our staff are still implementing all the COVID-safe measures such as hand hygiene and social distancing so we're not out of practice in that area.”
