BUNNALOO Public School is hoping to put a positive spin on 2020 while bringing together much-loved recipes from around the district in its new cookbook.
Hoping to get the project off the ground and into homes by spring this year, the school's Parent's and Citizen's Association (P&C) is appealing to anyone who wants to share their love for food with locals.
“We just want to capture what the past few years have been like for our little community while giving locals something they can use every day,” P&C president Malcolm Starrit said.
“We're hoping to do that by collecting photos of our students and their families while they complete daily tasks at home or in the community plus recipes from the many generations and families in our town and the surrounds.”
Bunnaloo Public School principal Darren Devereux said the students would love to use the produce from their vegetable garden to create the recipes sent in by the public.
“We've put in this vegie garden to give the students a sense of responsibility and pride in what they can grow when they look after and tend to it,” he said.
“Our Prep students will team up with the grade five or six kids and they will come out to water, plant, weed and just keep an eye on the garden.”
The P&C would like to invite anyone who would like to be a part of either the photo or recipe components of the cookbook to contact the school on 5489 7275 or email bunnaloopublicschool@pandcaffiliate.org.au
