“I have been doing mainly pub gigs since I was about 15,” Elias said.
“Mainly covers of different songs, like old, new and popular songs.
“My favourite songs to play are Mumford and Sons songs.
“You can really blast them out, play them as loud as you want, and they are really just more fun to do.”
Elias lives and works on the family farm with his mum and dad, farming sheep and cereals.
“In the long term, that is what I’d love to do with Mum and Dad,” Elias said.
“My parents are both very big fans of music.
“They love listening to music, and they got all of us interested in it.
“They tried to get us all to learn different instruments or whatever we had interest in.
“And my sister, Brydie, was fairly into music, playing gigs and stuff, and I played my first gig with her.
“She is nine years older than me, and she had a fair bit of gigging experience and so she and I did a gig together and then since then, I have just sort of picked up more and more by myself.”
Around the traps, you can regularly hear Elias play at The Exchange Hotel in Kerang or the Four Posts Hotel in Jarklin.
He is on all streaming platforms under the name Elias Lanyon Music.
“I’m just having fun with it; if it goes anywhere, that would be cool,” he said.
“If not, I will just keep being a farmer boy.”
Elias will be the opening music act at River Daze 24, supporting Shannon Noll, Inxsive and the Flaming Sambuccas.
