The festival runs every October every year, with free and low-cost events right across Victoria.
The Victorian Government, all 79 local councils, community and cultural organisations, and commercial partners will deliver more than 2000 diverse events celebrating older Victorians, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Major events include Celebration Day at Fed Square, the Melbourne Town Hall Dance, the Aged Care Tour and the Country Concerts.
A highlight in Campaspe is the Glenn Star Hit Parade show, featuring hits of the unforgettable 50s and 60s at the Kyabram Bocce Club, Fisher St, Kyabram, on Wednesday, October 23, with doors opening at 10.15am.
If you want to attend this free concert, book at www.trybooking.com/CVFAF or call Campaspe Shire Council at 1300 666 535 for a ticket.
The theme this year is Explore. Engage. Evolve. It encourages older Victorians to stay curious and connected by exploring new activities, meeting new people, and changing how they think of ageing.
And to explore, engage and evolve, many seniors got out and used the free public transport available to anyone with a seniors card.
But better hurry, as people have until Sunday, October 13, to take advantage of this special offer and travel anywhere on public transport in Victoria or take the ultimate free trip between Mildura and Mallacoota.
For those who are a little hesitant to catch public transport, V/Line is hosting two ‘Try before you ride’ sessions in Bendigo on October 23 and 26 during the Seniors Festival month.
These sessions help people of all abilities to feel more confident when using the public transport system, including people with accessibility requirements, parents with children and older Victorians.
