PREMIUM Galleries Girgarre musters up musical masterpiece By Rohan Aldous Jan 13, 2023 Talented trio: Performing their version of the Proclaimers smash hit from 1988 I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) are Amanda Owen from Hurstbridge, Tracey Wood from Eltham and Melissa James from Fitzroy in an open mic session at the muster. Known as the Honeybees, the ukulele trio was practising together for the first time in an open setting, in preparation for a Blue Mountains festival next month and the Melbourne Ukulele Festival, which is a three-day event from March 17-19. Singer songwriter: Jan Dandridge from Hampton Park in Melbourne, otherwise known as Little Miss Country, was involved in the Home Grown Songwriter Concert on Sunday, January 8. There were almost a dozen performers who sang original songs during the two-hour concert. Concert hall: Andrew Barcham from Upway performed two original songs during the songwriter concert, among those a song titled I Wish I Could Live Those Days Again. Pull up a bale: Wagga Wagga’s Keith Lugton, who was responsible for operating Uncle Pickin Coop at the festival, sits with Melbourne's Stuart MacKinnon, attending his first moosic festival, after starting to learn the guitar midway through the year.
