The Pies’ half-back operator showed once again why he’s so valued at Memorial Oval on Sunday, producing one of his more impressive showings of the year in Euroa’s Goulburn Valley League grand final defeat to Echuca.
Giobbi played all bar one of his side’s home and away games this year, missing round 18 before a calf complaint would keep him from Euroa’s finals encounters against Echuca in the semi-final and Mansfield in the preliminary final.
A much-needed return to fitness before the decider proved pivotal.
Giobbi was rock-solid in defence at Deakin Reserve, Shepparton, and his composure and elite ball use was crucial in moments when the game looked to be escaping the Magpies.
Not only that, a goal from 50m out on Sunday sent Euroa supporters into raptures as the Pies surged closer to premiership glory in a gargantuan fourth quarter.
