Echuca’s Riley Smith enjoyed a brilliant day out against Shepparton United at the weekend, with the hard-running wingman finishing as the top-rated player on the ground.
Smith earned 170 ranking points for his efforts, which placed him nearly 20 points clear of the second-highest rated player on the ground.
Not only did Smith accumulate plenty of the ball, recording 27 disposals of which 19 were kicks, he won it the hard way, gathering 11 contested possessions and four clearances, all while using the ball at an efficient 81 per cent.
Clunking 13 marks and logging seven tackles, the most and equal-most of any player on the ground respectively, Smith also made an impact on the scoreboard, booting three goals.
But his scoreboard impact didn’t stop there, as he finished with 11 score involvements, nine of which led to goals, again the equal-most of any player on the ground.
