Watching thousands of happy people pour in to enjoy the mini golf course since its inception, there’s no hyperbole from marketing and sales manager Paul Lavars when he details just how big of a smash hit it has been for the club.
“The mini golf has been around for a couple of years now and has been a great success even in the COVID environment,” he said.
“It’s the type of course that people seem to like playing over and over to try and better their scores, as it is a skill-based mini version of a regular golf course.
“It’s been popular with families of course, and it’s not too hard for kids — but many adult groups like to play and get competitive and it’s been amazing for Christmas parties and team building groups.”
Mini golf has played a big role in building on the club’s inviting brand.
Mr Lavars said it had not only served well as a stand-alone attraction, but also kept patrons at the venue for longer periods — which was a win for all involved.
“Rich River is wanting to build on its ‘alive with fun’ motto, so it’s a perfect fit,” he said.
“It has been great for the bistro too, with many families and groups eating lunch or dinner then taking on each other at mini golf so it’s added to our revenue in many ways.
“When it’s under lights in the evening it looks great and is very popular during daylight savings as we are open ‘til 10pm.”
