This year is the seventh instalment of the annual event which will see crowds of twin towners heading down to Run Melbourne on July 26 to raise money for Community Living & Respite Services Opening Doors Project.
The 33 Maiden St, Moama Opening Doors Project is nearing completion with plans for work at 33 Barry St, Echuca in the pipelines to provide houses for people with disability to live independently.
“I want to say thanks, I’m really keen to get more people down to join us in Melbourne, it’s a great day out,” CLRS chief executive Leah Taaffe said.
“Get your grandma, grandpa, mum, dad, sister, brother, cousin – anyone you can and bring them along.
“We’re excited that we can help people to live independently in the community but it wouldn’t be possible without the help and support of the community.”
Johnno’s Run has raised $350,000 for the Opening Doors Project throughout the past six years.
“And we’d like to continue that, at the 14th Annual Fundraising Dinner we raised $78,000 which is outstanding to have that support from Echuca-Moama and district,” Leah said.
The winner of the early bird prize was Lauren O’Dea.
