Simpson Construction Company will construct two clear-water tanks and a pump station on Wilkinson Drive, Echuca – opposite Twin Rivers Primary School.
Works are expected to begin in August and will take one year to complete.
Both tanks will be approximately 6m high and 30m in diameter.
“Echuca is experiencing significant growth, particularly to its west,” Coliban Water said in its latest community update.
“We must increase water storages to ensure we have enough water during peak periods.
“The pump station will ensure customers receive adequate water pressure as the region continues to grow.
“We aim to engage our communities in decisions affecting them. Would you prefer blue or green tanks? What material would you like the pump station cased in?
“Here is your chance to have your say.”
The pump station will be enclosed in noise reducing casing and the entire site will be fenced to ensure site security and public safety.
A $1.1 million trunk main will connect the tanks to the Echuca treated water network.
New sewer odour mitigation systems will be installed at Anstruther Street and Terricks Road at existing sewer pump stations for wastewater improvements.
The Echuca West Tanks Project is part of a $15 million investment in the Echuca region, to secure water supply and pressure to the growing area.
To have your say visit the Coliban Water website and search for “Echuca West Tanks Project”.
The survey will remain open until Friday, May 29.
The looks surrounding the tanks including fencing and vegetation will be decided in consultation with the local community.
