NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian announced on Tuesday the new measures to limit the chances of community transmission in the wake of the Crossroads Hotel cluster.
A cap of 300 patrons will be placed on all major venues, with the maximum booking decreased from 20 to 10 people.
A fulltime marshal will also be on duty to ensure a COVID-safe plan is being implemented during peak times for smaller venues, and collecting contact details of patrons will be mandatory.
Border Inn publican Adie Daly said everyone was making sure they were doing the right thing.
“We've had licensing in to check everything in the area is being done correctly,” he said.
“Everyone in the region is doing the right thing, we are all working to make sure every regulation is being met, our records are being taken and everyone is being protected as much as we can.
“Everyone is well aware of what happened in Sydney and what can potentially happen, so we have make sure we do everything right to protect our staff and patrons.
“It will probably have an impact, though not a great one, on our business and businesses like us, but we are well aware of what could happen otherwise. We don't want to go back to takeaway or to only being able to have a small number in the pub.
“They're small sacrifices we all have to make in order to keep things operating and to keep people safe.”
