Former Murray River Council general manager steps down from Macedon Ranges Shire role

FORMER Murray River Council interim general manager Margot Stork has resigned from her position as Macedon Ranges Shire Council chief executive.

Ms Stork stepped down from MRC in September 2017, and a month later was appointed to her new role for four years at Macedon Ranges Shire Council.

Ms Stork said she was proud of the many achievements of the past three years while leading the organisation, including major strategic work on the Statement of Planning Policy and Hanging Rock Strategic Plan.

Macedon Ranges Shire Mayor Janet Pearce said council appreciated the energy, commitment and focused work performed by Ms Stork in the past three years.

“We acknowledge Ms Stork’s leadership as a true innovative and progressive thinker,” Cr Pearce said.

“She is respected across the region, at all levels of government, and has inspired many in the sector.

“Ms Stork has reshaped council to be a stronger organisation looking to the future, and the breadth and depth of her achievements is a credit to her.”

The council will advise on future arrangements regarding the chief executive position at a later date.
