Mr Jarman said he would be hitting the streets of the town and the surrounding area in coming weeks to meet with people who had lived there for a long time.
He also wants to meet with the community groups who have been advocating for different projects throughout the years.
“It’s crucial I meet with those groups so I can get the information firsthand,” Mr Jarman said.
“It will help council to make decisions on what is directly effecting those people.”
When he nominated for the election, Mr Jarman said he had a number of areas he wanted to focus on.
And now he wants to follow through with those.
They include a Rochester CBD rejuvenation post the Murray Goulburn closure, better community consultation and making sure rural areas and smaller communities get the services they need.
“There has been a lot of changes across the Campaspe Shire in recent years,” he said.
“Community care and medical home visits are one of the things I will be prioritising to make sure it continues because it is such a critical part of our community.
“But it will all come back to talking to the people of the Rochester ward.”
