That’s the case for many potential buyers in recent weeks as real estate agents battle to keep up with demand for properties in the twin towns.
Elders Real Estate principal Dean Costello is all too familiar with the demands.
Earlier this month, his agency sold three homes within 24 hours of being listed on the market.
“It’s crazy to think just how quickly these properties are being snapped up,” Mr Costello said.
“I have people calling me every day asking if there is anything new in town. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up.
“We’re still noticing a lot of people are looking to switch up their lifestyle and make the move to regional areas.
“Sometimes properties can go weeks without receiving minimal interest and then you get scenarios like we did with those three homes.
“And all of those homes actually sold above the asking price. It speaks volumes of what we’re dealing with now in Echuca-Moama.”
One of the properties sold was at Amy Place in Echuca and Dean said his phone was ringing hot as soon as it hit the market.
“We listed the property about 4.30pm,” he said.
“By lunchtime the next day I already had five appointments booked. Some were private inspections and others were by FaceTime because the interested parties couldn’t travel from Melbourne.
“In the end there were three offers on the home, and I was pleased to help the people selling get the deal done quickly.”
