The winning Set for Life entry, bought at Echuca Square Lotto, delivers a prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years — $4.8 million in total.
It was drawn on Friday, January 22, and as the ticketholder is unregistered, there is no way for them to be contacted.
Echuca Square Lotto co-owner Gavin Sullivan said he had been sharing the good news with customers and encouraging them to check their tickets.
“There has been a great buzz around the store over the past few days with everyone wondering when the winner may discover the news,” he said.
“We are hoping the winner realises they are holding a winning entry soon.
“We can’t wait to break the good news to them.”
Since the Set for Life game began, there has been 73 division one winners, and the Echuca winner is the only one to not claim their prize yet.
The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney it was a good reminder for players to register their entry, so they could be easily contacted if they won.
“When a division one winning entry is unregistered, we simply have to wait for the winner to come forward, check their ticket and contact us to begin the prize claim process,” she said.
“We find the vast majority of division one winners come forward immediately after the draw, or within the first two weeks after the draw.
“We are in the business of paying prizes and we have no doubt the Echuca winner will come forward soon.”
In Victoria, division one winners have six months to claim their prize.
After this time, the money is transferred to the Victorian State Revenue Office, where the winner must apply to claim their prize.
The winning numbers in the Set for Life draw 1996 on Friday, January 22, were 8, 35, 23, 30, 41, 34 and 16, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 6.
