The elevated walkway at Horseshoe Lagoon in Moama will be upgraded with a $95,000 grant and $140,000 has been awarded to repair the retaining wall at Mathoura's Picnic Point Caravan Park.
Murray River Council mayor Chris Bilkey said the funding was welcome news to communities who would benefit from improved access to great quality public spaces.
“This funding is a welcome opportunity to install or revitalise infrastructure that supports the use of some of our key public spaces in several communities,” he said.
Other projects benefiting from the fund include Barham Recreation Reserve and Moulamein Centennial Reserve.
The program supports maintenance and upgrades at Crown reserves and community facilities across NSW.
“The improvements will make it easier for the community to access the reserves and will be of benefit to our important community organisations that use and manage the spaces,” Cr Bilkey said.
“Council looks forward to delivering these improvements as we continue to focus on community infrastructure initiatives across the council footprint.”
All projects are to be completed by December 2021.
