Mayor Chrissy Weller said all feedback received as part of the project would help the council prepare a new community vision and council plan, and other key documents.
“The Thriving Together project is about creating a vibrant, healthy and prosperous future for our shire, a future that reflects the desires, priorities and aspirations of our community,” Cr Weller said.
“The project is not about what you want to see next week, or next year.
“It’s about looking to the future, thinking outside the square, and planning for the next 20 plus years.”
A community consultation program is about to start, with a number of workshops planned throughout February and March.
In addition to the workshops, pop-up activities in townships, targeted interviews and an online survey are also on offer to capture community comment.
The locations and dates for the pop-up activities are:
● Stanhope, February 22, 6pm at Stanhope Recreation Reserve
● Wyuna/Koyuga, February 24 at 7pm at Koyuga Hall
● Echuca, March 1 at 7pm at Echuca Civic Centre
● Rochester/Nanneella/Strathallan, March 3 at 7pm at Rochester Hall
● Tongala, March 10 at 7pm at Tongala Hall
● Girgarre, March 15 at 7pm at Girgarre Hall
● Kyabram, March 17 at 7pm at Kyabram Senior Citizens Hall
● Lockington March 18 at 7pm at Lockington Community Centre
● Colbinabbin/Toolleen/Corop, March 22 at 7pm at Colbinabbin Hall
● Gunbower, March 14 at 7pm at Gunbower Hall
● Kyvalley March 25 at 7pm at Kyvalley Hall
● Rushworth March 29 at 7pm at Rushworth Hall
“We are wanting to hear from people of all ages and interests to ensure we gather a broad range of views and ideas on a wide variety of topics,” Cr Weller said.
By completing the online survey, residents have the chance to win an iPad. The survey closes on April 2.
